On a dynamic afternoon and evening in Sayreville, New Jersey, lighting professionals, touring techs, and aspiring programmers gathered at Squeek Lights (2500 Main St. Ext #6, Sayreville, NJ 08872) for an immersive, hands-on training experience centered on the powerful grandMA3 lighting console.
Presented in partnership with ACT Entertainment (108 John St., Hackensack, NJ 07601), the event featured two sessions — 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM — with the second session transitioning into the SDG MA Lounge: an evening of food, beverages, and meaningful conversation around the grandMA3 platform.
A Radical Re-Think: The grandMA3 Platform
Founded on the legacy of the previous grandMA consoles, the grandMA3 represents a bold evolution in lighting control. More than just an upgrade, it’s a complete reimagining of what’s possible in modern show programming.
The system’s architecture introduces:
Advanced fixture and feature handling
Powerful, intuitive effects engines
A refined and elegant user interface
Workflow innovations designed by top industry visionaries
The physical design of the grandMA3 range reflects meticulous engineering — built not only for performance, but for precision, speed, and creative flexibility. For touring LDs, programmers, and production houses alike, the platform offers a future-forward control environment that matches the complexity of today’s live productions.
Industry Leadership at the Console
The training was led by:
Lauren Bonavitacola, ACT Entertainment
Ben Jarrett, Partner at Squeek Lights
Lauren provided insight into the technical architecture, workflow advantages, and ecosystem of the grandMA3 platform, while Ben bridged the gap between technical mastery and real-world touring execution.
Ben began his touring career in 2015 and has worked with bands including:
Coheed & Cambria
Minus the Bear
Lucius
Nada Surf
LP
Mad Decent Block Party
His experience as a lighting director on the road has shaped his approach to show design — using bold color palettes, dynamic cue stacks, and emotional storytelling to bring an artist’s vision to life. Today, as a partner at Squeek Lights, he continues to apply that touring discipline to corporate events, festivals, and concert productions across the region.
Squeek Lights: Lighting as Emotional Architecture
At its core, Squeek Lights is driven by a simple philosophy: music is passion — and lighting is the emotional amplifier.
From strobes and lasers to moving lights, LED video walls, and atmospheric effects, their team understands that professional stage lighting does more than illuminate performers — it elevates the entire experience.
Founder Victor Zeiser shared his excitement about hosting the training:
“We’re really happy to offer the opportunities to aspiring LDs and we’re just getting started. I always look to give people the kind of opportunities I wish were available to me when I was starting out, and we’re excited to host the training here at Squeek Lights.”
With more than two decades of concert lighting design experience, Victor has toured with and provided services to artists such as:
Beartooth
Grouplove
They Might Be Giants
August Burns Red
Now fully committed to leading Squeek Lights from its home base in Sayreville, Victor and his team provide lighting designers and tour managers with technically advanced, emotionally driven, and unforgettable stage experiences.
ACT Entertainment: 40 Years of Innovation
For four decades, ACT Entertainment has blended innovative technology, essential infrastructure, and creative leadership to elevate live events worldwide. As a trusted partner to top lighting designers, sound engineers, and concert producers, ACT continues to push the envelope in show production technology — and the grandMA3 training is a reflection of that commitment to education and industry growth.
Building the Next Generation of Lighting Professionals
More than a product demo, the Squeek Lights x ACT Entertainment grandMA3 training was about community, mentorship, and meaningful industry access.
Attendees — from students to touring programmers and LDs— left with stronger technical skills and deeper professional connections.
Squeek Lights’ commitment to training and development is further demonstrated through a new partnership with Eviziv Media LLC to deliver a 3-part, tiered lighting training series as part of the Eviziv 2026 Training Calendar. The program will offer structured progression from foundational lighting concepts to advanced programming and live production leadership for emerging LDs and seasoned professionals alike.
As the MA Lounge concluded, one thing was clear: lighting directors and technicians aren’t just learning lighting — they are building the next generation of industry leaders.
